I never used this, but I would imagine most on QW that are hanging on do. It's like you're using a completely different app, and if you're going to take the time to learn a new app, well there's lots of competitors out there. Over the years I have become accustomed to the way QW did things obviously, but this seems like a step back to me. But the two-line register has been ditched with no way to bring it back, and the whole process of reconciling is completely different. I guess that is a good thing since QW hasn't really changed since Windows 3.1. I will say that my QW data file dating back years more or less imported ok.įirst of all, it looks nothing like QW. They seem to have done the bare minimum to bring Quicken Essentials Mac to some sort of feature parity of the Windows app, however they fell pretty far short. Quicken 2015 is missing a lot of features that I enjoy in QW. I have come to rely on Quicken Windows and use it in Virtualbox (it's the only reason why that exists to me).

With them, their financial software is pretty much their business, no loans, no creepy data collecting thing posing as web-based finance software, just personal finance. Yeah, I'm thinking iBank is the way to go. Importing looks like a disaster, too, no QIF files for me! That means I have to:Ģ) Import the QIF files into Quicken for Windows 2004ģ) Maybe then import that Quicken file into Mac Quickenģa) Import the 2004 data file into Quicken for Windows 2014 and then into Mac Quicken seriously? Is this version designed for anterograde amnesia victims? And the 1% may have a hard time up voting tracking capital gains because that's not a feature yet either.

A the bottom of this Quicken 2015 for Mac Comparison Chart you can see some missing features that will be voted on. However, beyond that I'm willing to bet iBank crushes Quicken on features.
Quicken has cloud syncing right now and iBank does not. On features, it's pretty much going to be iBank, but with a notable exception that will be remedied this year (I hope). The mobile versions are free for Quicken, so score one for Intuit on price.
Problems with quicken 2015 update#
The very capable iPad version is $20, and the badly in need of an update for handhelds is $5. The main competition, iBank, is $60, but that's just the Mac version. At first glance, the price seems high, $75 and probably a little bit of your life expectancy dealing with a 1.0 product from Intuit. (I just had problems with TurboTax and now it seems I am going to have more problems with Quicken.Intuit does have 60-day refund policy, including purchases through the Mac App Store. Is there another program that would allow me to create these bank accounts and keep track of interest and then to create reports at year end? I need these reports for my my IRS reports every year.
Is there an alternative to Quicken Deluxe 2015 that I could use that would keep track of my expenses, bank interest, etc. I just don't want to lose all my Quicken entries, etc. :"Īnd so, at this point, I don't know what to do or which to download.

What is difference between the download "QW2015R6Patch.exe" and the "Mondo" download that you referred to?īeing a computer beginner and user of Quicken for many years I am really VERY confused about this latest download. I am very confused about the new 'update' for my Quicken Deluxe 2015. I've read several posts that said this NEW patch has caused many problems and maybe I was right in NOT downloading it. Now I think it might have been a new update "patch" for my Quicken Deluxe 2015.
I didn't know what it was and so I said NO. When I opened my Quicken Deluxe 2015 today I got a pop-up saying that the program wanted to add "update/fix? (something like that) and did I approve.
